I think d1 once mentioned that a corrupted .ioFTPD file could cause it to crash when changing dirs..see if its a particular folder you are going into that causes it to crash, then remove the .ioFTPD file from that folder (probably wouldn't hurt to do it in any sub dirs and parent dir.
