I split this into a new thread for simplicity and so that I don't get confused with the long winded posts in the previous thread.
Tomorrow I will investigate this further but off the top of my head I have to wonder if some settings such as
"Options > Preferences > Transfers > On Transfer Complete > Reset and retry failed transfers" and/or
"Options > Preferences > Transfers > Retry failed transfers > Move to bottom before retrying" are active and causing this inconsistent behavior you noticed.
