I don't think so, if the problem was the proxy why it works perfectly with v3? I'm sorry but your theory does not make sense, there is no doubt it's a problem in v4.

It's a SSH tunneling proxy, dropbear v0.52.
Is your glFTPD daemon Explicit AUTH SSL configured?
