Actually, this delay occurs after you either start the program initially, or start another instance thru F12. This leads me to believe it's connected to the process of populating the lists, setting up the window etc. On my old P200 with 64mb ram, it's about 4 seconds, while on a P2-800 with 256mb, it's about half that. It's noticeable.
