Arrow Strange problem in ASCII mode with .nfo files

I have strange problem with .nfo files transfered in ASCII mode.
When I download nfo or sfv files from OpenFTPd 0.31 server (linux) using FlashFXP in ASCII mode nfos which are more then 12 kb long ( ie. 16931 bytes) are cut to 12704 bytes.
Then when I set to transfer .nfo in binary mode downloaded files are correct in size.
This problem are not releated to .nfo which are 11 kb and less in size.
Should I transfer .nfo in binary mode? I was reading that txt files should be transfered in ASCII mode. Which mode should I choose??
