How to improve login speed?

It usually spends more than 15s(15~18s) for user logining into my ioFTPD server. Somebody tells me that slow logon is a general problem of ioFPD, but I still want to know if there is some ways to improve the login speed ...

[2] Resolving my.ftp.server...
[2] my.ftp.server => xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
[2] Connecting to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

then delay for more than 15s, and connected to the server,

so i must set the login time 20s, and inform my clients set there login time more than 15s.

My system: 2003 server, ioFTPD 5.8.5r, ioA1.2.0, iobanana V20.

ioFTPD isn't slow to login if set-up correctly.
My guess would be some script you have running on the login event is slowing things down.
Disable any occurences of the following and test to see if its any quicker, if it is re-enable 1 by 1 until you get the offending script:
[Events]
OnFtpLogIn = *
[FTP_Pre-Command_Events]
user = *

[Harm]

My guess is that those users don't have any identd running and thus are waiting 15 seconds on login (the ident timeout is 15 by default).

Ident_Timeout = 0

no delay, smoothly, and so happy!!
