Question New to website design adn confused.....

erm .... i'm a bit of a newbie to the whole website creation bit, and need some help setting it up.
So far ive mangaged to write my homepage in HTML and get FlashFXP downloaded and working, however, even though ive transferred my html of my homepage to my site, it won't load through normal internet explorer
Its probably something really basic I'm missing, but asi say im new to this, so any help would be much appreciated

No, this doesn't sound incredibly stupid, you only need to read some documentation first about the FTP protocol etc. Just try googling on "ftp basics" or "how does ftp work". There is really alot out there to read which is very usefull. If you have the patience to work some docs through, i'm sure you're getting a much better picture of this stuff within the hour.
