Have a problem. Help. Please.

I've got problem when i connect to and ftp server and when FlashFXP tries to list the directory and says

200 PORT Command successful.
LIST
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
426 Data connection closed, transfer aborted.
List Error
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

And its almost on every server. Just cant open the data connections.

Could you tell me why that happens?

If you're behind a nat or the server is behind a nat and ports are not routed, PORT command won't work (PORT mean you ask the FTP to connect to a specific IP,port ; PASV mean you ask the ftp server to open a port and give IP,port)

I'm running Windows XP Professional
May be University uses NAT i dont know
Connection is firewalled by service provider, so have no idea what they use.
Norton Antivirus ver. 10.0.1.13

I have in options to use passive mode. Do you mean that it doesnt use passive? On the other hand, it says 200 PORT Command Successful - how a successful anything may cause problem?

Just checked - if i try to LIST directory in PASSV, then i get the "connection timed out".

Doesnt help.

I now have Ver.3.0 Build 1015....

Still cant list directories proparely. Or sometimes cannot list in passive but cannot download without passive.

That is damn stupid and noone can explain me whats happening =(

Can you FTP with other FTP clients? If not it sounds like you're out of luck.
