Default Problem transfering

HI all, been using Fxp for years now, very happy. Today I went to install the trial version onto a clients pc. Installed perfectly, I logged into my hosting as normal, everything OK. Yet when I try to upload files (jpg's in this case) the little yellow bar at the bottom goes all the way to the end. then gets stuck. Then i abort the transfer and it says the file is there, but is 0kb.

I then installed smartftp to see if it was a problem, and the same thing happened.

He is running xp with norton (which i turned off and it still happened) and using a netgear router.

The image files that I was transfering were regular jpgs which i had been moving around at my house.

Anyone have any ideas?

by norton's do you mean just the anti-virus, or internet security, or firewall?

If it was one of the later two simply turning it off might not be enough, sometimes things get out of whack when using applications like this and they cause all sorts of unexpected results. First and foremost you need to make sure its up to date.

In order to completely regain control uninstalling it might be necessary, however make sure you have the original install cd to re-install it. Sometimes a re-install might solve it, but then again you may be stuck with the same issue and need to contact them for support.

Im going to take my laptop down tomorrow. If i dont have the same problem, then it must be norton, if thats the case ill try and gain as much info as I can.

If my laptop doesnt work, then possibly there is something in the router, i dunno. Will report back tomorrow
