Default lost sites, cannot save solution does not work

Today I regrettedly updated to FlashFXP version 3.6.0 build 1240. I am on Vista and opted for the possibilty to have my site settings stored in the "new, safer" file, i.e Program Data.

None of my site settings were imported.
A newly setup site was not saved.

Searching this forum I found topic [HELP] Vista + FlashFXP v3.6 Upgrade Issues and Solutions that seemed to have the solutions.

The thread is closed, so I cannot ask my question there.

1) On not saving changes "The FlashFXP installer has been updated to resolve this issue" : not here.
2)<Solution - switch back to per user install type. Run the following command line to execute the installer. "FlashFXP_36_Setup.exe -s -var:"PerUser=Yes"> ;

I have no idea as to how to use a command line.

3) I searched for quick.dat: empty
4) I searched for sites.dat : no settings but this info ".demon.co.uk
Port=21
Notes=Archive of Winsock programs and utilities, located in the United Kingdom
Options=300333300003
anonymous=1
Path=/pub/"

Can FlashFXP import site settings from Dreamweaver? It is not mentioned as an option.

Please, how do I get my settings back? I am at my wits end and need to upload a lot of stuff quickly.

The only problem I am spared is my registration, that is picked up all right.

I know this is a known issue but the "solutions" provided simply do not work here or I don't understand them.

I am a paying customer, not a computer whizz kid. I have been using FlashFXP for several years now and always updated without problems.

You should not make an update available before it is ready - or you should warn your customers.

I need help, badly, and before tomorrow.

Hi All,
I too had this problem of 3.6 not saving my personal sites. I went to the link in the thread (now closed) above, downloaded it, installed it, FlashFXP seems to be working fine now.
I didn't try any of the fixes listed in the thread - except for the new download.

The installer was improved to help solve a number of those issues without relying on the user to follow those steps manually, the installer that is availible now (although it has the same filename) is not the same as the original installer for 3.6 that most people downloaded. I would suggest that anybody having trouble with this redownload the installer from the customer portal and not just try reinstalling with the old one they might still have laying around.

I did download the installer from my portal just yesterday. Still had problems with it not saving my settings, sites, or anything else. I even uninstalled and tried the download links provided in the FAQ thread -- no dice. It took using the command line to get things working properly.
