Default Getting VERY annoyed

What is with the online support? I have for two days now reported the issue about the upgrade from 3.4 to 3.6 not accepting my product registration code. and now i can't use the program at all! and what reallly pisses me off is my job relies on using an FTP program and this program is top notch, however, the support on the other hand, they should put that in their next fix! 2 days and not an email response back. VERY VERY annoyed!

In the mean time, read the forums, their are several reasons this could occur, some of which are clearly explained on the forums already.

I assumed you are using Windows Vista as this is something that is often caused by misconfiguration of FlashFXP under Windows Vista. (although their are other causes also)

well what i was hoping for was them to just give me a brand new product code to work with the 3.6.... what would be the big deal in that? i am not going to to play around with setting of any sort to get this program to work.. i paid for this program and i expect them to give me a very simple solution.

support answered and fixed it, well done!

the fix is :-

The "File permission is denied" message when registering FlashFXP means that your Windows user account can not create or modify the "license.key" file in the FlashFXP data folder due to file permissions. This is a common error we have encountered in Vista since releasing version 3.6.

To manually fix the problem, you will need to update the file permissions on the FlashFXP data folder to give your Windows user account Full Control. The error message should display the path FlashFXP is using for the data location or else you can use Help/About, Details tab to see the location. If you go to this location in Windows Explorer, open the Properties and then Security tab you can then add your account file permission to the folder and its contents.

OK, in the programs/FlashFXP folder I don't have a data folder. The only folder is language. This is an upgrade and everything worked fine till I upgraded

I have changed permissions on most other items but still get a file access error in vista on flashfxp.key and I can changed permission to full

Some help please

David, the actual folder is not "Data Folder". If you open FlashFXP and go to the menu option Help/About, and then the "Details" tab, it will tell you what folder location is being used as the "Data Folder".
