Thumbs down Customer Portal Vs Forum sign in...
Hi

Heres a big annoyance if I sign in to customer portal FIRST, when I visit the forums while it shows Im signed on the forum as well, if I try to reply to a topic it will ask me to sign in again still... Even if I do sign in again it has no effect.

While the opposite does not seem to be true if I sign in the forum first and visit the customer portal t seems ok.

Dont know if it anyone experiences that but it would be curious to find out.

Seems like ur having some issues with the site/forum cookie. My recommendation 4 u is 2 fully logout and restart ur browser. Then clean ur browser cache and delete all ur cookies, restart ur browser again and login through the main site.

mmmm I have done all of the above and obvious trobleshooting on this, I get in both on XP and Vista and I am allowing cookies on both, cleaned restarted, whatever not...

Its funny that it only happens when I log in customer portal, if I log in forum I can access both no issues...

I suppose you tried this as well?

reset your password from the customer portal and all should be well. that will force a full synchronization that clears up many of these issues. let me know how it goes.

Hi Linkster.

If by reset you mean change password it didnt work, if you meant "pretend" I dont know the password and have a password emailed to me by clicling "forgot password" then it still didnt work.

As soon as I visit the Forum and wanna reply to a topic teel tell sign is the quick reply box is not available and if I click reply the forum still takes me to the sign on page...



Maybe Its only me on this one alone?

Actually, there does appear to be a bug in the system. After resetting my password from the portal, my user accounts are no longer "synched". we will research this and address it as soon as possible.

I believe we have finally resolved this issue. It had to do with an update to the way VBB handles its session hashes. Thanks for your patience, and please let me know if you have any other problems.
