Default VirginaTech kills ...

I don't know if i should write this post on this forum; i would like to, at least, express what i feel. If the admins decide to delete it i'll understand it. I only need to write it. No problem, really. Delete it if you think it's inappropiate. I'll understand it.

First of all, my sinceres and deeply condolences to all students families that were killed or injured. I think that now it's not the time where mass media should start talking about how (or why) a mad can kill so many innocent people; i also think that it's not the time to talk about the gun's problem that United States of America has. I really think that it's not the time.

I think that it's the time to stay with the students, the families and the teachers. Really. They will need all the care, attention and help.

But ... by the other way, i think that now is the time to think by ourselves and try to speak sinceresly.

Later or sooner you, as american citizens, should realize that you have a problem with guns. And yes, i know that i am not anybody to talk about your country (i'm spaniard) but believe me, and i DON'T want to be disrespectful ... i think that you have a problem. I know that exists the second amendment to the United States Constitution, the "right of the people to keep and bear arms", i also know that National Rifle Association seems a highly and powerful organization, i know it. But i keep thinking that you have a problem, a big one, with guns and people in general:

* Charles Withman - Texas - 1966 (15 kills and 31 wounded)
* California - 1992 (1 teacher and 3 students killed)
* Arkansas - 1998 (4 students and 1 teacher killed)
* Oregon - 1998 (2 students killed and 22 wounded)
* Colorado - 1999 (13 students killed)
* Minessota - 2005 (5 teenagers and 2 adults killed)
* Wisconsin - 2006 (1 teacher killed)
* Colorado - 2006 (1 student killed)
* Pensilvania - 2006 (3 students killed)
* Virgina - 2007 (32 students killed and 30 wounded).

...

I don't know if you really perceive that there's a real problem here, anyway this is only my humble and sincere opinion.

Anyway, as i said before, my deeply and sinceres condolences to the students families.

Theres been a few school shooting in Canada too. Unfortunately it is definately becoming Canadas problem as much as your neighbours down south.

Personally I don't understand the gun thing.

I have no idea why someone would want to own something designed for killing things in the first place, it's a mindset I just don't get.

If it wasn't for these freaks who politicians have to make allowances for they could actually get some decent gun laws and save a lotta lifes.

If 30 dead young people isn't enough to make them think "geez, maybe the right to bear arms isn't worth it after all" then I'd have to have them down as just as much a part of the problem as the murderers and the people who sell mentally ill teenagers guns without running checks.

Unfortunately as I think theres a large chunk or republican voters falling into the part of the problem category I doubt guns will ever go away in teh US and children will keep dying.
