| Some thought about the io-project
All large projects have their up's and down's, that's just the way it is due to the nature of man kind. According to me, the io-community is now sadly closing in on a minus peak. darkone packed his stuff and left, some great scripters has lost their motivation while others has moved on to other projects, no recent news about the progress of io aso.
It might be just me, but it feels like the project has come to halt again. I really admire panic for taking on a project of this size and at this point. But reading in on a program that's been coded this far takes a lot of time and I'm afraid that the wait for the new io (v1) will be too long for some. The project itself won't die out, but the progress is not that great, and don't take me wrong, I'm not complaining on panic, I admire him for taking on this task, I'm just trying to find a way for us end-users to give the project a push in the right direction.
Now I do not know the reason for d1 leaving and only a few chosen ones do I guess, him leaving might be due a personal matter that's better left untold. But if there is anything us end-users could do to get d1 to return to this project, at least I would be happy to do so. If it's a money matter, I'm even willing to contribute just to get this project back on it's feet (since face it, almost everything in this world is about money). Perhaps d1 and panic could work side-by-side on io when panic has read through all the code? just to even out the work and not put all the stress on one person.
Now this is all just a personal oppinion and I would like to thank you for taking your time to read this. Feel free to comment on this and perhaps someone of you has got a suggestion on how to get past this.
Best Regards,
T.L.
