Why are the language files in binary format?
Pure text would be more interesting since it's easy to customize. :P
If binary is more efficient, then just generate a binary cache after the user chooses his favorite language.

bigstar didn't code mult-lang module from scatch. it's a 3rd party module that uses that format.
